The pork bulgogi was burnt —almost every single piece! Of the parts that were more edible, they were lightly charred and nicely flavored. The mixed bulgogi chicken was not good —it was overcooked and dry! My dining companion and I agreed that my pork bulgogi was so charred that it was burnt and not edible. The owner came over and stated that it is supposed to be like that. We understood the char from the sweet and spicy nature of the dish but this was over cooked! She did nothing to fix it nor to remove the extra meat cost from the charge. The salad was over doused in dressing. Even after removing half of the salad dressing, there was too much. It was ordinary iceberg with tomatoes, red cabbage and shreds of carrot with two slices of cucumber. The best thing was the fried rice. The soup was nice, bland but decent. The beef part of the mixed bulgogi was good. The Oriental fries were interesting but not that good— would not order those again. The dumplings were ok, nothing special. The ice water was very refreshing. The bulgogi meal, because of how poorly it was executed, was overpriced. I lived in Korea for three years, enjoyed authentic bulgogi dishes on a weekly basis, and I would not recommend stopping by to eat at Kitok’s. It was recommended to me and did not meet any of the expectations in the least. If I had to come back, I might try the burgers and regular fries.
My favorite hole in the wall mom and pop shop for the delicious cuisine of Bulghogi the may be misspelled but it is on point with the taste buds and don 't forget to get you the soup and oriental fries and if ur American standards foodie the burgers are a top of the town hit as well. Love this place! 34-year customer.Parking: Busy at Lunch for sure! Dinner is a more quiet dine in time..
Went for lunch. They used to be know for their hamburgers and oriental fries. The service was very slow. I had to get out menus and it took forever for our order to be taken. The hamburger was not near as good as it used to be. I was very disappointed. The oriental fries were great though.Food: 4/5
This restaurant is a hidden gem, a local favorite. The kimchi here is outstanding. The beef and pork bulgogi is incredibly delicious. I'm happy I ordered the full size portion. While I didn't find the Oriental fries to be as amazing as others claimed, they were tasty when dipped in the provided soy sauce. The meal also includes a salad with a mayo-based dressing and a chicken soup appetizer. If we ever come back to Waco, we will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
My husband and daughter have been raving about this restaurant for 30 years, and I finally had the chance to experience it myself. This charming Korean restaurant also offers hamburgers and other sandwiches. The parking lot is rough with dirt and gravel, and the exterior of the building could use some attention. There is a small garden in front of the restaurant that could use some care. When you enter, you can see directly into the kitchen and feel the heat as you watch the chefs at work. The restaurant has only around 15 or twenty small tables, all of which are kept clean. The menu is concise, with just three delightful pages of real food options. This hidden gem is well-known to locals, and I hope it remains that way. I love everything about it just the way it is, maintaining its charm and tradition for decades.
