Great dinner! Our party of 6 had a great waiter and he made awesome dinner recommendations. Three of us had the chicken piccata, the others had halibut, lamb chops, and the pesto linguine. We ended dinner with the cheese cake. The whole restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. You absolutely have to have the flaming cheese! View all feedback.
What Taylor Walton dislikes about 1424 Bistro:
I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to share our experience at this restaurant. While the staff and atmosphere were enjoyable, the food sadly did not live up to our expectations. Despite the steep prices, the quality of the dishes was lacking. The calamari was undercooked, and both the Beef Wellington and Scallop Scampi were disappointing. We left feeling unsatisfied and even needed to take activated... View all feedback.
First time customers (my aunt and myself).A quiet and quaint restaurant with a soft ambiance. We started with calamari and shrimp bisque. Both were amazing however the temp of the bisque was not hot enough. The calamari on the other hand was mind blowing. Auntie Kells had a Margarita. I had a vodka martini. Her main course was chicken piccata while mine was an unbelievable roasted lamb shank. The mashed potatoes with mine had a creamy buttery flavor. All of the vegetables are fresh ! NOTHING out of a can. Even the butter was artisan with wildflower honey and star of anise.CT was my waiter. We shared some stories and I enjoyed his company. He is amazing and we shall continue to support 1424 moving forward.
I found this place online and visited for my Aniverasay, I drove about one hour. and when we arrived, it was nice since I reserved my table. I didn't have to wait. The atmosphere was Cain of Romantic,I order Some soup they were amazing ? And Their Butter sweet Very Good, Calamares were too sagging. Not crunchy... BUT for my entree I order Alfredo with Chicken and They were so salty That I couldn't eat them So When Our server came to the table after 20 min she was not attentive, I told her I couldn't eat my spaqueties Bc They were too salty and I am hungry. And she did not offer any help at least to fix it. so I can eat what I am paying. She said Do you want a To go Box... Really? I couldn't believe it. I paid my ticket. Even though I did not eat my plate .we spent $135.00, and I left without eating an entree. I will never come back Bc The services Bc To Have a Restaurant Not only the food has to be good but also the service. I hope this review saves you some money.
This was our first time here. When we got there it was empty except for one other table at 6pm. Then it filled up pretty quickly. The atmosphere is so cozy and romantic. We started off with the flaming cheese. It was good. Different. Our table ordered the ribeye, orange roughy, etouffee, and beef Wellington. All were delicious. We had the lemon drop, coconut rum margarita and a dirty martini. This place is pricey but very nice for a special occasion. Give it a try . The service was fantastic as well.
Servers didn’t introduce evening specials, (overheard other server at neighboring table. Sounded delicious). Chicken piccata is sad. Paper thin about 3-4 oz of chicken with bland linguini. Fettuccine Alfredo tastes like it was made of ONLY Béchamel sauce. Nutmeg and parmigiana was the only flavors coming through. Filet was cooked nice We will try again.
Sorry Waco this is a restaurant experience I never expected to find here. Food was fantastic, including presentation which doesn't often seem importent in this area. Our server Rick was incredible. I certainly did not feel that the food was in the least overpriced. Impressive wine list. Thanks!
