Was Ben at Surfside a mag?
Exactly the kind of informal breakfast joint you'd expect (and hope) to find in this sleepy harbor village. Locals who all know each other come and go, sharing tables and anecdotes while the salt-of-the-earth waitress keeps everyone's coffee mugs full. Breakfasts are simple and hearty with generous portioning and no-nonsense style of service. Open 7 days a week when I visited in late September 2021. View all feedback.

I went out for breakfast with my family, and there were seven of us in total. After noticing that some of us had gotten coffee from the bakery, the owner became quite upset. She started yelling at us and, ultimately, refused to serve us breakfast. Her behavior was incredibly impolite, rude, and unpleasant. View all feedback.
I liked it, pancakes we're good, small place, don't expect much, but would go for breakfast any time.
Food was great and a sunny day. Definitely would say make the stop if you're ever out on Vinalhaven
Great breakfast and you never know who you are going to meet.

Horrible place. Don’t go there. The owner is rude and very disrespectful. Very mediocre place. Not a nice environment.
