Is not a touristic place, is also frequented by locals. The Spanish culture is in the air. Everything is fresh, served quick. I usually dine there when I am in town at least once during the stay.

Favored by many the local businessmen for its service and high quality of raw materials makes Bar Puerto a busy place and they certainly make the effort to keep it this way. Lovers of Sea Food, make sure to sample the goods here. You'll be coming back again at every opportunity.

The octopus starter was... read more I left this restaurant feeling very annoyed at the boring, overpriced food, the terrible service and the idiot who recommended it to me. The octopus starter was tough and tasteless; I can say without hesitation that I have cooked better octopus dishes myself using recipes from Jamie Oliver and others. My monkfish dish was substantial but tasteless served with boiled potatoes and a vinegary sauce on the side that did nothing to enhance the flavour. The wine was served in stingy little measures. The service by the two staff I dealt with was unsmiling and wholly unwelcoming, while all the waiters fawned over the locals. Meanwhile, not once did a waiter ask me how my food was. In short, what I expErienced was short of even basic customer service. The place itself is not at all cosy, lit as it is like a supermarket. I’m not at all surprised that, at the time of writing, this restaurant is only just inside the top 150 restaurants in Vigo as ranked by Tripadvisor reviewers.

The Centollo which is now in season, Berberechos, and wild Turbot were delicious. Simple and basic cuisine well prepared and tasty. Very nice house white wine.
