The restaurant has a very lovely view over the sunset with tables by the water and tables on an elevated spot above the road. It is a quiet and beautiful location to enjoy a late summer dinner. This could have been the intro to a magnificent review, but sadly it is not and this is why:We walked past the place earlier that day and saw the advertisement of grilled lamb. We adored the location and decided to try something local. We talked to the staff and reserved 1 KG of meet of the lamb leg. “Off to a good start!” we thought. As the evening approached, we were looking forward to an unforgettable experience of grilled lamb in the sun set. When we arrived we were shown to our table and told that the lamb was not ready yet, but it would not be more than about 30 minutes of waiting before it would be served. We saw the opportunity to enjoy some local wine and sat down and ordered a glass of red and a glass of white of the house wine. The white was ok, but the red was stale. It had a fatty film on top of the wine and smelled stale. I informed the waiter and promptly got a new glass of cold red wine. Although cold red wine isn’t the optimal way of serving it, it was fixed quickly and we continued the wait. 30 minutes passed, people came and ordered food, ate food and left. Not once was there a waiter to check on us, ask if we needed more drink, maybe an appetizer to calm our hunger/anger. After 1 hour and 40 minutes we got our “meat”. The so called freshly grilled lamb meat was scraps of bones, tendons and remnants of tangy and cold meat. It was certainly not 1 KG and certainly not part of the leg, as it was full of remnants of ribs. If you weigh it all together, maybe 300 grams, including bones. As a side, they provided potatoes cooked to pieces and then burned with a torch. Absolutely horrendous. They also gave us a “salad”, which was basically green cabbage that had been chopped roughly and soaked in vinegar. Not edible. The loaf of bread we were provided was ok, but was not provided until we got the main course. It’s like they’ve never had guests before! We asked for some more meat, but they told us they were out. How they can be out, that is a puzzle by itself. We were 1 out of 3 tables eating there that night and nobody except us had the lamb. It was almost as we were punished because of complaining about the wine.If you think about going here, think again. There a plenty of places around that care about their guests and serve great food. I hope this was a one time incident for the place. If not, this restaurant would soon be fore sale.
