A wonderful discovery! I'll be back as soon as possible. I thoroughly enjoyed everything from the appetizer to the dessert. I highly recommend it.
Our experience at Saveurs du Marché was rather mixed. As for the food, the dishes were generally good but quite basic. The parsnip purée stood out and added an interesting touch. However, the chocolate dessert cream was clearly lacking in flavor. On the plus side, there was little waiting between courses, which made the meal pleasant and flow smoothly. The service, however, was a mixed bag. The young waiter was a bit clumsy, but he made an effort. Conversely, the manager left us with a negative impression: a rather curt, unprofessional attitude, and above all, a lack of attention to the kitchen. The chef had informed her that there were only a limited number of starters left, but five minutes later, she had sold twice as many, which raises questions about the organization. Furthermore, on the day of our visit, her attire wasn't really appropriate for service: a blouse with dropped sleeves very close to the plates, which isn't reassuring from a hygiene standpoint. Finally, the decor clearly needs an overhaul. The overall effect is cluttered and disjointed: wine corks dangling everywhere, half-dead plants, bottle wrappers used as decoration… not to mention the clash of purple and white walls next to real stone walls, which is visually jarring. In short, the food is decent but unremarkable, the service is inconsistent, and the ambiance could use a serious refresh. There's potential, but many things still need improvement.
If everything was fine, be aware of the cooking smells in the restaurant that permeate everyone's clothes. There might be a ventilation problem in the kitchen.
