Price per person: €40–50 Food: 2 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4

A relaxed and unpretentiou... read more We're visitors in Vienna and came upon this gem of a restaurant. Wonderful food, beautifully presented. Good choice of wine and beer. A relaxed and unpretentious restaurant. The Maitre d' elevated the whole experience to another level he was attentive and charming and knowledgeable. A restaurant full of local people and we were lucky enough to happen upon it. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Upon w... read more Four of us a multi generational group traveled to Vienna to see the Christmas markets. We stayed in an Airbnb in a neighborhood close to the center city. Upon walking back one evening, we were looking for a restaurant close to our Airbnb. We needed...a bit of a break from all Viennese cuisine (traditional). We selected Tancredi which bills itself as Mediterranean and we are so glad we did. The service as spectacular and the food divine. I had the ravioli delicious in a fantastic sauce. The ingredients were super fresh. My vegetarian relative was easily able to find something delicious to eat as well.

My German is poor... read more We ate at Tancredi one Thursday evening at the end of June. It was a lovely evening and it was great to be able to have dinner in the garden. My German is poor but the waiter's command of English was great and his help...with translating the menu was invaluable. The food was excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. However, there are two reasons why I have only given them a very good rather than an excellent are (a) I made the table reservation many weeks before visiting and as such I would not have expected to sit immediately next to the service table which on occasions was piled with other people's dirty plates and glasses (b) other people's cigarette smoke was rather intrusive I appreciate that this is not specifically a Tancredi problem but these days, I think if customers want to smoke, they should do so away from the eating area so as not to affect the enjoyment of others.
