Cheap and filling meal. Had a beef stew with rice, fried fish, and fried chicken. Over all it was not bad although the fried items were slightly on the bland and dry side for my taste. Pretty decent for food on campus. I liked that the containers were thick and microwave-able plastic which is good for take out people. Edit: Inconsistent portions sometimes and some of the food items can be on the greasy side. Still a... View all feedback.
What Tina Li doesn't like about My Home Cuisine:
The female boss, who speaks fluent Chinese, has a very bad attitude. She probably pretended not to hear, and didn’t respond even after being called several times. It’s terrible. View all feedback.
Tasty final dishes from the kitchens of the various Chinese regions, especially non-cantonese cuisine. Hot and cold meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes a la carte, or to go on rice or pasta. try the cold maple of persuan. water and hot Chinese tee are...comlimentary. this is a self-service lunch counter in a university area food. it is very popular and will be packed at midday when the school is in the session.
It is an authentic Chinese food in the ubc campus. very friendly and quick service. affordable prices, especially when they come in the evening. after 18 clock they give special discount and serve are really big! large selection, approx. 20 courts for choice. Fried pork, ginger beef and lemon chicken are decent. good value for money.
Decent, Cheap Chinese Food. Very affordable Chinese food that is good, especially considering the prices they charge. A bento box with rice and two sides is only $4.99. Probably your best bet for authentic home style Chinese on campus.
My absolute favorite place to grab a bite on the UBC campus. You can’t go wrong with their selection, just trust your stomach! I recommend the fried rice beef stew and the spicy chicken but really anything they have is fantastic. It’s a cost effective meal as well, $10 for a portion that can even be two meals for some people. The staff is very sweet, the auntie doesn’t really speak English so if she seems rude it’s not that it’s intentional- she’s just focused on making sure she gets you the meal you’re looking for. And having lived in Asia myself, I can attest to the authenticity of this restaurant, even the ambience makes me feel like I’m back in a Singaporean hawker center grabbing some lunch.
My favourite place to grab quick and tasty Chinese food on campus. The tomato egg is so addicting!
