Pazzo's Pizza is a beloved fixture near Vail, CO! Established in 1990 by three friends—Grateful Mike, Powder Tom, and Hutch—who would hit the slopes during the day and craft pizzas at night, it has become a must-visit spot. Everyone I know makes it a point to stop by for a slice! The pizza is consistently delicious. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, you'll enjoy a beautifully relaxed atmosphere. We were there on April 29, 2022, at 8 p.m., and the music playing perfectly matched our vibe; my friends and I couldn't stop talking about how great it was!
I've been visiting Vail for 20 years, and I can say without a doubt that this is the best pizza in town. I've tried several other places, but none compare. The dough is perfectly fluffy and flavorful, and the cheese is top-notch. The service is quick, and the pizza always arrives hot from the oven. They do offer a few nice sides, but I primarily come here for the pizza.
Pazzo's pizzeria offers a selection of affordable Italian dishes. The Stromboli Calzone $11.95) was a very large portion, packed with piles of Tangy Marinara red sauce, with meat and fresh peppers and onions in baked Italian dough. A single piece of Thin Cheese pizza with peppers and onions is $4.60. A small Greek salad $7.95) was fresh and tasteful. Note: This store is located on a pedestrian area in the Vail Village. Free 2 hours Parking is 5 minutes away.
This is an excellent spot to grab a slice after a long day on the slopes! Just make sure to arrive early, as it tends to get quite busy with people waiting for tables!
Thin crust pizza was sooo good, you should definitely immerse yourself so you can enjoy the hot melty cheese and super crispy crust. Pizza was 10/10, everything else was below average. Caesar salad had fresh ingredients, but the croutons were too hard, sauce was also watery. Spaghetti bolognese tomato sauce felt as if it was diluted from a can, rather bland tasting and only a puppet player of it on boiled spaghetti. The spaghetti was also hot steaming, which we felt was probably microwave. Would go back, but definitely just order the pizza.
