Reviews - Almresi
Reviews summary
The restaurant, styled to look like a vintage European spot, received mixed reviews from diners. Some found the food to be mediocre for the high prices, with dishes like pork ribs and pork schnitzel falling short of expectations. Others were disappointed with the lackluster service, particularly when it came to explaining the fondue experience and addressing spills. Some long-time fans lamented the shift to a fixed price fondue-only menu, feeling that the quality had declined. However, there were also glowing reviews praising the Austrian cuisine, like the Stiegl Pretzel combo and the KaisersMarren dessert, and noting the exceptional service. Overall, opinions were varied, with some eager to return and others feeling let down by the experience.

Always such a unique dining experience! We come here once a year as our family dinner and it is always such a delight. This time there was live Austrian music, and they definitely made our night. View all feedback.
What Ian & Frankie Harrison dislikes about Almresi:
Nothing was bad, but also nothing to write home about. I’d go if you can’t find anything else but thought it was overpriced for a lackluster meal. The cheese fondue particularly left a lot to be desired, it didn’t even come over a flame. View all feedback.

Excellent Bavarian menu with some more innovative pasta and fish options. Restaurant is cozy with a modern Alpine flair. We dined near the end of the season, but there was no lag in service nor attention. The salmon pasta was light and summery and the schnitzel cooked to perfection, served with classic lingonberry jam.
Almresi is an awesome restaurant. Great service and excellent food in a really unique alpine ambiance.
Authentic German and Austrian food, such a fun experience! The service was TOP NOTCH… attentive, informative, very friendly! Perfect experience to top off Oktoberfest

I recently dined at this restaurant for dinner and had a fantastic experience. The price per person may be a bit higher, starting at $100, but it was well worth it. The food was top-notch, receiving a perfect score of 5. The service was impeccable, also scoring a 5. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, earning another 5. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant for a special night out.
Delicious food, exceptional service and relaxing, but fun atmosphere. We asked for many recommendations and got detailed answers that got us an incredible meal. Felt like I was getting the best home cooked meal from an Austrian farmhouse. I love this restaurant. The food, ambience, service is amazing. I always feel in Austria. My only criticism is that we have come during the season, but last night I noticed that the wine of glass had gone from $15-$17, I understand that prices have increased, but what worries me was that the casting size had substantially reduced by one third. I asked our server and he said they had made a big cut to the casting size. So increase the price and reduce the poor, disappointing. But still love this place. Hopefully, the management will think about it for the summer season.
One of our “Beweg” places in Vail. Great food. Good selection of beer and drinks. Always a good time!
Wonderful German ambiance and excellent, friendly service. Excellent specialty drinks at the bar. But food was disappointing. Schnitzel was excellent as was the spaetzle. But German cheese soup lacked flavor. Goulash, too, was in need of an ingredient or two—wine, maybe, or beer—for more flavor. And the German Riesling I ordered was skunky. Traded for a Pinot noir. Prices are fair for Vail. I’d recommend, but with qualifications.
Patrick was our waiter and he was wonderful, great service. The food was very delicious.
