Walked over from the DoubleTree to watch some football and have food/beer. The place was packed and they had every game on a TV at least once. The staff seemed very overwhelmed but they handled it as well as possible. We ordered some wings and then I had the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. We thought the food was above average for a sports bar. What Elizabeth Y doesn't like about Ale House Kitchen Tap:
Came here for dinner tonight while we were visiting Vail and the restaurant was nice but pretty dead. We ordered drinks which were great but the food was subpar. I ordered the Rocky Mountain Rainbow Trout and it was good but definitely not the best I've had. My boyfriend ordered the Philly Cheesesteak and it was kinda dry and bland. Service was good, our waitress checked up on us and the food came out on time. I woul... View all feedback.

They were out of a few beers that we wanted but they had a large enough list for us to pick something else. Once the first set of games finished, they were accommodating everyone and switching TVs to whatever games people wanted. The manager was moaning and groaning the whole time because of how bad the cable boxes worked but he still did it for everyone. I would definitely come back again.
Vail Ale House was a solid find. They have a good selection of beers and a solid number of TVs. This is your typical bar and they have very good bar food. I got the Alehouse Buffalo Wings and really liked them. I also tried my wife's Flatbread which was okay and adding fries to any meal is always a good move. They also had live music which is pretty cool. If you're looking for a place with a local bar feel in the middle of Vail go check out the Vail Ale House
We got there when it said it opened and were told that none of the wait staff had even gotten to work yet. It's was after 3 at this point. Not sure how an establishment runs a business like this. Was really looking forward to trying this but unfortunately we were asked to leave or wait. Instead we went down the street.
If you're looking for a casual bar/restaurant that's a fairly big space for a large group, this would be the place. I visited here with a group of about 15, and we were easily accommodated. The bar was about a 10 minute drive from our hotel in Lionshead, so I wouldn't recommend coming here unless you really want a spacious place. There's TV's all over the bar, booth seating, high tables, and regular tables. There's a bit of everything to please your need. We started off with many different appetizers and I chose to take a ¼ of the Alehouse Papas Quesadilla. To be honest, I much prefer traditional quesadillas. Having mashed potatoes in place of cheese did not do these quesadillas justice. The service was good, but it would have been great had the waiter not forgotten to put my order in. Everyone received their food except myself and when the waiter came to me asking if I hadn't received my food, he came back apologizing that he had forgotten to put my order in. So, while everyone ate, I sat there, constantly telling everyone at my table who all nicely offered to share their food with me that I really preferred to wait for my own entrée to arrive. By the time my food arrived, everyone else was finished. I ordered the San Diego Chicken Sandwich with a side of Sweet Potato Fries. The French Fries were wonderful in flavor, with just the perfect amount of crispiness. The sandwich was ok, but it was nothing to write home about. I ended up finishing all of the fries and left half of the sandwich on the plate. The bread was really thick compared to the thin chicken breast that accompanied it. Overall, my time here was cool, but I'd probably much prefer going to a bar closer to Vail Village or Lionshead.
Always a fan of the Vail Ale House. Located in West Vail right off the exit and in a shopping area, so lots of parking. TONS of TVs always having whatever game you might want (Just request it) and plenty of tables, high tops, and bar seating. Good local Colorado beer selection on draft and a decently sized menu. Big fan of the wings (either buffalo or sweet thai chili sauce) and their burgers and chicken parm. We have had a few instances where the staff is slow/doesn't show up when the store should be open (especially in off season) so know that it can be slow. The staff is extremely nice, but their lack of consistency is why they don't get a 5 star review.
