"Incredibly delicious fish and chips! This place reminds me of Irish chip shops for anyone craving it - the best I've ever had in Canada! The staff is also very friendly.".
What Margaret Thibault doesn't like about Mad Millie's:
Have ordered Halibut & chips with the takeout option a few times, huge serving (lots of fries and big pieces of fish). Don't think we'd ever eat-in though, every time we go to pick up our order it's as if a fog machine has been on in the building, don't know what that's about but it's always SO smokey, can barely breath and it stinks. Have visited several times. Always enjoy our meals . Friendly service. Sit down or take out. The chicken is also very good.
Decided to finally try Mad Millie's today for an early lunch....met the owner as we were opening the door... very friendly...mentioned to her that this was our first visit...we both decided to have the lunch special... $7.99.... two pieces of haddock... deep fried to perfection...served with wonderful homemade fries.. a touch of homemade slaw...tarter sauce!! The haddock portion was perfect for lunch...The restaurant had lots of booths which we liked and a warm cozy fire going.... the decor is a touch dated but we weren't there for ambiance...A definite hit and happily we will stop by there again... wondering if their chicken is as good as the fish n chips!! Waitress was very pleasant and both owners thanked us as we left!!! Uxbridge at its finest!!! Small town charm!
Food is very good the only draw back is you need to bring cash. Remember your there for the food not the decor.

I hadn't been to Mad Millie's in over 10 years and decided to try it again for dinner. Things haven't changed much inside...original hardwood floors and church pews arranged into cozy booth seating. It's still family run and the owners are front and centre both in the open kitchen and on the floor serving tables. I was happy to find my favourite beer available....a great selection of SECOND WEDGE BREWING COMPANY selections! We opted for the Elgin Blonde, a light and refreshing American Blonde Ale that was the perfect pairing for our Haddock Fish 'n Chips. The portion was excellent and the flakey fillets of fish were lightly battered and crispy. The hand cut fries were also cooked just right and tasty sides of homemade tartare sauce and coleslaw topped off the plate. If you want friendly service in a clean, casual setting....give this place a try. We will be back for sure to try their famous Broasted Chicken!
