This restaurant has gone out of business after being in business for years. They really had good food and we enjoyed going there. I guess Covid may have played a big part in their closing.
Food and service is good. Breakfast and lunch is usually busy. No dinner service as they close at 3:00 p.m. Flour tortillas were warm and fluffy. Chips were warm and crisp. The salsa for the chips was so so. Menudo is good but sometimes could be a little warmer. Hamburgers are good but their fries were hohum. (I think their oil wasn't hot enough). Not a bad place to eat considering the limited choices available in Uvalde.
In complete fairness the food is good. But it is very expensive for a hole in the wall and service is extremely slow. You will wait 45-60 minutes for you food to come out. In the meantime, you need to yell for a waitress if you want a refill or anything else because they do not check on you. Seriously, in San Antonio this service will put you out of business.
We went recently and regretted it. The wait staff was rude, I guess they changed their system where you pay first and order at the counter? Which the employees weren’t even courteous enough to tell us they just stared at us sitting down at the table for about 15 min. It wasn’t until we saw other people doing it.When serving our drinks the waitress slammed my boyfriends drink on the counter. The only thing was that the cashier girl was nice. They charged me 50c for water, and we paid $43 for 3 plates and 1 soda which I thought was expensive. The food is okay but for the price you can go somewhere else and get better service. Will not be returning.
