I had a lovely breakfast at Fig Tree Cafe this morning with my husband. The staff was fantastic and the service was excellent. The cafe is located in a converted church, which adds to its charm. It was quite busy this morning, a true testament to the delicious food, welcoming atmosphere, and overall great vibes.
A reliable cafe in Upper Hutt known for its consistent quality. I really enjoyed the soup of the day, which cost just $14.50 and was filled with chicken, beans, vegetables, and accompanied by two large slices of sourdough bread. This was our second time ordering the frittata from their display, and I was amazed to find that it tasted exactly the same as it did over a year ago. That level of consistency is impressive. The coffee and cake were also delightful; the cake was pleasantly not too sweet, which sets it apart from most other cafes in Upper Hutt that tend to serve richer, sweeter options that I'm not particularly fond of.
We've already enjoyed breakfast here twice, and both times have been wonderful. The food is delicious, and the portions are very generous. The ambiance of the restaurant is charming, and the staff are friendly and attentive. We can't wait for our next family breakfast date here!
We stopped in for a coffee while out on a walk. It was a busy Saturday morning, but there were still plenty of tables available. The food menu looked fantastic, and we'll come back on another visit for breakfast or brunch. The coffee was good, and my tasty cheese scone came with plenty of butter (bonus points for that). Their smoothies were also delicious. We'd definitely recommend this eatery.
