Had great takeout here when we visited the BI a few years ago. We stopped by Anuenue Shave Ice next door today, and saw there was a paper sign on Kawaihae Kitchen's door that says they are closed until the end of the month, it doesn't say which month... View all feedback.
I eat here regularly for several years. The food is wonderfully classic plate lunch. I like Korean chicken with double spicy tuna.
This place seemed really well rated on Yelp, but it's over hyped. Although the food was good; the portion size, total taste, waiting experience and price were not worth it. Cudes to the restaurant to have a vegetarian option.
Food was good, and when you show up early, the price is great.
Katsu chicken bento (Surf Bento) is seasonal. The only part of lunch that had every taste was the spam. The Bengo came with ketchup as a sauce for the chicken, which says everything you really need to know.
