We left hungry. We have been to way better Oceanside restaurants throughout the world. Very pretentious place to eat. Expensive does not mean better here.

However, I noticed seve... read more Like many resort restaurants in Hawaii, Canoe House makes a strong effort to promote itself as a unique farm-to-table dining experience. However, I noticed several diners, particularly men, seemed confused by the menu options. My recommendation would be to forgo dinner and instead opt for a few appetizers and a cocktail, enjoy the sunset, and then head somewhere else for your main meal.

It's hard to place a value rating on the experience, if you're looking for value, keep looking. I always go to the Canoe House once each time we are here and will go next time too.

However, with the recent price hikes, Canoe House has become one of the priciest restaurants on the Big Island, and they do not provide any kama'aina discounts.
