What Mandy Davies likes about Kawaihae Pizza.:
Great experience. Very nice owner and Simple place but the food was delicious. I ordered the ahi tuna and sushi bowl with sushi rice and added their chilli water on top. It was very fresh and no ?fishy? taste. Wish I could eat that every day! View all feedback. What Dominique Hirthe doesn't like about Kawaihae Pizza.:
Had great takeout here when we visited the BI a few years ago. We stopped by Anuenue Shave Ice next door today, and saw there was a paper sign on Kawaihae Kitchen's door that says they are closed until the end of the month, it doesn't say which month... View all feedback.

read moreKawaihae Kitchen offers a mixed experience for patrons, with some praising the delicious food and friendly owner, while others find it overhyped and disappointing. Despite positive reviews of dishes like the ahi tuna and sushi bowl, others have faced long wait times and underwhelming portions. Additionally, inconsistent service and seasonal menu changes, such as the absence of the highly praised Katsu chicken bento, contribute to a mixed bag of reviews. Ultimately, it seems Kawaihae Kitchen is a hit or miss dining option, with some diners enjoying the unique offerings while others feel let down by the overall experience.
Adding to reviews of years past: This is our go-to, drop-in place while on the Island, every year.
Cafe Pesto is flat out a great restaurant.
Bottom Line: Casual tasty Italian fare in a casual setting with great service. Cafe Pesto is a great spot for a casual meal.
