Ballo Italian Restaurant at Mohegan Sun boasts a beautiful and stylish ambiance. They have a limited selection of gluten-free options, including gluten-free pasta. However, it's unfortunate that they don’t offer a gluten-free brand that would complement the Italian cuisine. The portion sizes were generous, and the food was truly delicious.
I started with the "New Clothes of the Empress" gin cocktail, which was juicy and delightful—I ended up having two! For appetizers, I tried the meatballs and the burrata plate, both of which were excellent. For my main course, I ordered one of the specials, the duck, which I felt was worth the $55 price tag. However, I was disappointed by the lack of seafood quantity. The lobster was a split shell with only about a tablespoon of meat, and the shrimp were quite small. Although the other meat dishes and salmon at the table looked appealing, I think I’ll opt for something different next time. My meal had great flavors thanks to the pasta and cream sauce, but it didn’t inspire me to order a seafood dish again. Our server, Darrien, was fantastic—very attentive and mindful of the dietary restrictions at our table. Overall, I enjoyed the experience!
