Was Anonym at The Apprentice a mag?
We went to The Apprentice for our wedding anniversary and had a wonderful time. As it is a training restaurant fostering learning, we were very impressed with the enthusiasm of the staff. The food was delicious, and we enjoyed every moment. Thank you! View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about The Apprentice:
$30pp for a four cursor meal prepared by tafe chefstudents and also served by tafe hospitable students. bacon and ice quiche . dry baked, tasteless fill. duck and hokkien nudeln. that is much better than the prestarter? moist duck, brownish asian style dressing with much coriander.

Phoned ahead to let the restaurant know that we would have a couple of our party running a little late. No problem, all catered for. Seated for drinks, and service began once the full party was there. There was confusion about how the ordering process would work - turned out it was a set menu and you would get a dish each, much like at a wedding, which meant there was no need to choose from the menu. The starters were excellently prepared, mine was a trout dish with creme fraiche which was tremendous. Others had zucchini flowers, another dish had lamb. A bottle of well priced Cabernet Sauvignon accompanied mains, I had duck and there was a barramundi dish amongst the group, and dessert was a chocolate plate with delicious peach cream and sesame seed wafers. All in all a fabulous meal, and ideal for the occasion, a relaxed business meeting. The floor staff were courteous and attentive, and ok there were a few fumbles and spills and some of the clearing away was a little swift, but that's part of the charm and anyway the wait staff were doing a better job than I could! The food though was great, and the early finish around 9pm was spot on for a weekday dinner. I'll be back for sure. Keep up the good work!

My husband and i dined here on recent visit to Sydney and were very impressed. The food was delicious and delivered very promptly. The young girl who served us(Shirley)was great, very friendly and professional The restaurant itself is quiet and elegant and has a lovely relaxing ambiance about it.You have to book for this, they don t take walk ins off the street.Only thing we didn't like was when the person in charge chided the student in front of us over a very minor thing.I know this is a training restaurant but she could have taken the young girl aside and not reprimand her out in front of us.My husband said that part of the evening made him a bit uncomfortable as he felt sorry for the young girl.Apart from that we had a lovely evening and it is certainly great value for money.$35 for a 3 course meal that is as good as you will get in a fine dining restaurant.

This was my second time at the Apprentice, which I like the idea of, however this time was disappointing. The entree was cold and tasteless, the Chicken main was a bit dry, uninspired, small, and flavourless, the desert was nice. However, my companions raved about the pork . What most upset me was our group being split into 2 tables? Why? as well as prepaying for 2 people who could not attend due to Covid. Sure, the policy says no cancellation, however why should I pay for drinks for people who do not show. Food goes off but drinks? And I am sorry, only 13 out of 15 people turned up, but surely that is a pretty good effort? If you want customers to support student chefs this is not an inspirational way to go about it.
