A lovely meal, very pleasant staff. On arrival we were advised there may be a delay for our food. We were surprised with the speed our food arrived after the warning. Food was really hot. View all feedback.
What Lauren Hughes dislikes about Argyll Hotel:
Stayed here overnight after a camping fail, but would have been better just camping after all — even with bent tent pegs. We waited ages to be seen at (what doesn’t look like) the reception and then we were awake most of the night because of the noise from the pub downstairs. Decor is tired and the spiral stairs are too narrow to navigate with bags and/or cases. The doors also open inwards towards those stairs, makin... View all feedback.
We were only in the pub, but the pub was great. The atmosphere was ok, but the service was fantastic and the food was great. We had several dishes and they were all very tasteful.
Stayed for 1 night with friends on way around NC500. First impressions were not great, hotel does need some TLC but the staff Connor and Logan were exceptional, even set us up in a separate bar to watch the football that night, outstanding guys and for that reason I would definitely go back to the hotel just to meet up with them again. A credit to the place. Food was also good, the bar area is traditional and cosy and busy all night. Don't be put off by other reviews, it's what you make of it yourself, the guys at the Argyll will look after you well.
Outside appearance of hotel and care of public areas (reception, stairs, carpark etc) would be scored as a 0 dirty, uncared for and a health hazard (old mattresses piled on fire escape and flat roof). We would have turned round and walked back out except everywhere else was full and we’d paid in advance. Room was a bit tired with stains on carpet and comfy chairs, but bed was very comfy with very clean cotton bedding. Clean, fluffy bath towels too. On the top floor and the view from 2 large windows of the loch was amazing! Breakfast was acceptable but not great. Staff were lovely. If you can close your eyes to the public areas of the hotel and just gaze at the view and want a good nights sleep you’ll be fine!
Didn't feel comfortable at all here. Strange atmosphere, we only stayed for 1 drink and left ! Cant really think of any positive to say !
During our visit, my wife and I made a reservation for dinner at this restaurant. Unfortunately, we were not impressed with the expensive, uninspiring, and bland food and wine. We also observed one of the bar staff removing smudges from a glass with their fingers, which was quite off-putting. Overall, our experience was not very pleasant.
