Cedar Grill - Ucluelet
Cedar Grill
Description
Cedar Grill, located in a quaint town, offers a mixed experience. While some find the food average and service lacking, others enjoy the fish and chips and cedar plank salmon. Menu items like pasta and burgers receive mixed reviews. The atmosphere is cozy but cramped for larger groups. Highlights include outstanding seafood chowder and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant supports wildlife initiatives and is popular with locals and tourists alike. Despite some flaws, Cedar Grill remains a go-to spot for those looking for tasty comfort food in a casual setting. Reservations recommended for a smoother dining experience.

I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant with excellent service and mouthwatering dishes. We tried the vegetarian pasta and the beef Bolognese pasta, both of which were delicious. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the prices were reasonable. Don't miss out on this gem!
My wife and I visited this restaurant for dinner on our honeymoon and it was wonderful. Despite its unassuming exterior, the food definitely made a lasting impression. We started with the pork stew bowl and hummus. The burger was massive and topped with all the necessary fixings, including tasty bacon strips. The side of chip truck style fries was a nice touch. The wild salmon was perfectly cooked, as were the accompanying vegetables. The portions were generous and we were too full to try any dessert.
I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. It is well-priced with amazing service, a cozy decor, and delicious food! We ordered two lamb shanks and they were fantastic. They were tender but not falling off the bone, and the flavor was just right. I highly recommend this place for anyone who enjoys lamb dishes from various cuisines. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
NOT CELIAC SAFE OR FRIENDLY Was thankfully told by the waitress they make their own pizza crusts so “flour is everywhere” (they were currently making them too) and they boil the GF pasta in the SAME WATER as the regular pasta. Did not order food. Can’t speak to taste.
I’m Celiac, my wife is not. We had dinner here twice. Yes, they are gluten friendly but staff are very knowledgeable and make every attempt to accommodate. I had the planked sockeye salmon with a different glaze other than the soya sauce based one. Delicious and no issues for me afterwards. I’m also lactose intolerant and the potatoes vegetables were done in olive oil. Also offer GF pasta though I can’t speak to them as I didn’t have any. Highly recommend.
