This is a no-nonsense place for a breakfast with seafood. They also cook from the main menu during breakfast hours. I particularly enjoy their El Capitan tacos with shrimp. Find the most cheerful waiter, and you're good to go.
It was chosen as a last minute decision and we were really happy we did it. Its very easy to get to from the tulum beaches, as its right on 15 when you come out of the state park. We needed a light lunch so we didnt feel too tired and they offered a good variety of seafood. It can be prepared in several different ways, fried, grilled, spicy, butter/garlic, etc. English was widely spoken. Cost was average for Tulum, especially right off the beaches.
We eat dinner at a fish restaurant El Capitan, we order a fish fillet al diablo and a fish fillet with garlic, they serve it with rice and some vegetables, we pay 300 pesos. Light, quite tasty, but nothing special, it's not the best fish we've ever eaten.
Luiz and everyone at El Capitain provided a delicious and wonderful experience! We ordered the fried calamari, coconut shrimp, and the chicken mega quesadilla all wonderful! We will be back!!
Went here for dinner on a Saturday night. The restaurant was almost empty. Ordered a seafood soup. The soup could of had a bit more seafood. Flavor was also lacking. I asked the waitress for some hot sauce to add some flavor to my soup. She never brought it, but was quick to ask for a tip when paying the tab. Also ordered a shrimp cocktail. It was nothing spectacular. This place was extremely expensive for what it offered. I am mexican and would say it was mediocre. Nothing spectacular. Go somewhere else if u want seafood.
