Super bummed the restaurant was completely closed the night we had a reservation
Food was delicious but service was truly terrible. We were 1 of 2 tables and it was one of the most rushed dining experiences we’ve ever had. We shared the flatbread, fish and rib eye they brought out the rib eye two mins after the fish, meaning our 1400 MXN rib eye was completely cold by the time we ate it. Plates were cleared before we had both finished. Even paying was rushed. We didn’t even have a chance to read the bull before they arrived with the card machine. Really disappointing.
Exciting menu featuring traditional and local Mexican ingredients but in a modern and energetic presentation. The food was delicious we tried just about everything on the menu and shared between 4 people. It was great to taste many dishes that way. We dined at ARCA the night before (Atila 's sister restaurant) and were happy to try Atila too. The service at Atila was fabulous, I explained to the waiter we wanted to try many dishes and he help us narrow down the best ones to share between 4 people and coursed them so we did not feel rushed. The environment is modern and tucked away in the jungle against the open fire kitchen and open air bar. The music here was really nice and a little funky (not like the other clubby restaurants nearby that are so loud you can 't even have a conversation). We enjoyed the ambiance as much as our food and service. A must in Tulum!
Atila was overall a great experience. Four small plates was enough to feed two people. Stellar cocktails. We were there during low season so every restaurant was half empty. The ambiance is not as vibey as other places in Tulum, but food here is the main draw. Highly recommend the prawns eaten with coconut flatbread.
