Sal’s Fat Slice - Tucson
Sal’s Fat Slice
Description
Located in the vibrant Boxyard, Sal's Fat Slice promises a lively atmosphere but falls short in service quality. Diners report long wait times for food, with some experiencing rudeness from staff and issues with incorrect and cold orders. While the pizza earns praise for its flavors, dissatisfaction with greasy wings and lack of napkins detracts from the overall experience. However, positive encounters highlight attentive service accommodating dietary needs. The restaurant's homey spirit shines through its classic comfort foods, particularly the beloved Italian grinder sub, reminiscent of New York's bodegas. Sal's Fat Slice proves to be a restaurant of contrasts.

The restaurant offers delicious food and has a friendly staff that creates a warm atmosphere. They serve classic comfort foods, with my favorite being the Italian grinder sub. It reminded me of the tasty sandwiches you find in New York City bodegas, which was a nice touch.
Great concept but a disappointing experience. The restaurant sells pizza by the slice and I waited 20 minutes for a cheese pizza. I had to leave due to my schedule and it's just not acceptable. Making a pizza shouldn't take that long.
The service at this restaurant was poor and the staff was rude. They were unwilling to accept my cash payment of 20 dollars for two slices of pizza. When I asked for a napkin, I was told it wasn't their responsibility as it was the bar's job. Despite these inconveniences, the pizza was tasty. The overall atmosphere at the Boxyard was great, but I was unimpressed by the service at Sal's Fat Slice.
Rude staff, when I got there at around 1:30is and the signed said open. So we waited for them to come at the window for 15-20 mins. The guy was so rude and was making it seem like how dare we come at that time to get pizza. Waited another 30 mins or so to get pizza for it to look like middle school lunch pizza. Just the worst experience.
