This is a great place for tea, coffee or dessert. Lots of flavours to choose from and the desserts are very good. They have a great selection of used books as well and the prices are very reasonable too.
Only an Italian caffe (to use the Italian spelling) would rank above this one for me. For Canada and the USA, this one is a clear winner. The atmosphere is calm, WiFi is available and fast, there are comfortable couches as well as small and large tables, the workers are friendly, and the selection of drinks has everything I would want. The selection of sweets, although not extensive, includes some interesting gourmet offerings. I had a brownie this time -- I chose it because it had some healthy aspect to it that I cannot recall, perhaps wheat-free -- and was pleased with it.The barista (i.e., the person making the coffee) knows how to make a very well-crafted latte macchiato. We had a nice chat while he was making the coffee. I have had better-tasting coffee in Italy, but only because of the coffee used; this man's artistic technique in making the drink was among the best I have experienced. The prices are on par with what you would pay in any similar caffe.
My wife and took a day trip to the little town of Truro. We are both coffee lovers and we found this spot on our way out of town. It is now a must stop when passing by to get our local coffee fix.We also had a slice of Carrot Cake (Made by them), it was delicious! Love seeing the local art for sale as well. The only downside is the whole town along with this little cafe shuts down so early on Saturdays.
