Needed a quick place to eat while travelling and this was a great choice. The service was way beyond fast and friendly. The food was hot and delicious. The menu had lots of options and the prices very reasonable. It was not fancy and the furniture could use a little TLC but it was clean - just dated and worn. Go! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Sahla Thai:
While the sauces at this restaurant are gluten-free, they are bland and lack flavor, which was a disappointment for me as someone who loves authentic Thai cuisine. I ordered five gluten-free meals and only received four, all of which had the same unappetizing sauce. I was tempted to throw them away, especially the pad thai, cashew chicken, and ginger beef dishes. I recommend going to Parichat Thai restaurant instead,... View all feedback.
On an overnight stop in Truro, we visited Sahla Thai based on the great reviews. It is my sincere pleasure to add to those great reviews! Sahla Thai is a true gem in this NS town. Unassumingly situated amidst a long line of small stores and businesses, the inside is well decorated with a sense of Thai culture. The food is of course something to truly rave about! The first page of the menu opens by stating that Thai food is spicy! That said they are able to adjust the spice level according to the preference of individuals. This is then followed by large menu filled with everything Thai. What we truly appreciated was that neither the menu, nor the food, was altered to fit a 'Canadian palate '. The food was prepared as it should be in pure Thai style. And you can taste the difference! We visited on a Monday evening, which is usually the slowest day for restaurants. Yet this place had people constantly coming through the doors. Also noticed their phone almost never stopped ringing as they were getting orders for pick-ups. Clearly the residents of Truro seem to have taken to this restaurant quite well. Considering the reasonable prices, this is not a big wonder. In addition to our shared appetizer, and two main courses, we ended up ordering three additional main courses to go; which we froze when we got home to have another day. Truro is about 4 hours from our home is NB, so not exactly easy to get to for a meal; but we cannot wait for our next trip to Halifax so we can stop here along the way. If you are anywhere around Truro, would highly recommend a visit here.
If you’re looking for enjoyable Thai cuisine, this is the spot. We’ve tried lots of menus items and they always deliver. Quaint atmosphere and pleasant wait staff. Must try!
The food is consistently good. Fast and pleasant service. Price point is great Take out service is fast, efficient and accurate.
Spring rolls, pad Thai, spicy beef, cashew chicken and jasmine rice. Very yummy, this restaurant is one of my favourites in Truro.
I found the food to be bland in comparison to many Thai restaurants I’ve frequented. I expect Thai food to be spicy and rich tasting, but was disappointed here.
