Fireside Tea Room - Truro

Nice food, although we felt a bit rushed as it was towards the end of service and the servers wanted to get away. Would go again, but earlier in the day.

Went there to use a gift card I had been given. Small place in the back of the NS Emporium. We had the curry soup, which was amazing. My husband had the lasagna with a salad. The lasagna was a large portion and light and not heavy. I had the quiche and salad, which was also great. The salad was mixed greens, tomatoes, peppers and a poppy salad dressing on the side. We also had carrot cake and the European cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Both were homemade and delicious. My only disappointment was that the crab cakes were all sold out.

The tea room at the Nova Scotian Emporium is a lovely place to have lunch with a friend or your mom. The food is freshly made and delicious. Save room for dessert!

This Tea Room is a small place with 3 rooms. One room is enclosed which gives more privacy and the other two rooms are separated and cozy. I have enjoyed my food there, only once I had to return my quiche that wasn't quite cooked enough. The waitress was very pleasant and made a replacement. Service is not always swift as they are quite busy at lunch time. There were only two waitresses working the last time I was there and the three rooms were occupied so we did have a wait. I certainly enjoy the food, so will continue to go there from time to time.

I can't say enough good things about he food here. It is quality food with a nice atmosphere. If you haven't tried the lobster sandwich here yet you MUST go ASAP. The tea room is suitable for all ages and stages. Their desserts are also to die for!
