So glad we went here. We were hesitant at the outset when we tried to sit outside given the limited options and prices. However once we got going we were glad we decided to stay. The chefs tasting menu was truly special and something akin to a Michelin quality restaurant we?d have in the City. Can?t describe how delicious each dish was because it would take forever but I?m glad we memorialized each one with a quick photo to relive the special moments. Favorites were the ?walk in the woods?, Rossini, black truffle pasta, and the olive oil ice cream. The wine flight was also superb. The service was also top notch, Jared and his team went out of their way to make the night special. Even at the end of the night he made recommendations of other Truckee spots, none failed us. Overall a very memorable dining experience which we would happily repeat. We?ll be back soon.

The food was a bit rich for me, but for other palates it might be the perfect thing for a winter evening meal. The atmosphere is peaceful but lively and the service was great. I will definitely come back!

We opted for the prix fixe menu, which requires the entire table to commit to either that or the chef's tasting menu, and I chose the vegetarian option. I have to commend them for the extravagant fine dining experience, exceptional service, and innovative molecular gastronomy, as well as for providing a vegetarian choice—everything was top-notch in that regard. However, the steep prices set my expectations high for the food. What I discovered was that the vegetarian dishes were simply variations of the omnivorous dishes my friends ordered, just with the meat omitted. There were no unique or distinct vegetarian options created; it felt as if they were an afterthought in such an upscale establishment. This review is from some time ago, and since the menu changes seasonally, things might have improved. Currently, I see they offer house-made tofu on the menu and that the vegetarian options are part of the regular menu instead of a separate one. So, I may consider giving Trokay another chance when I’m in the mood to dine at the priciest spot in town. This review has been updated as of 2023-07-13.

The food quality was exceptional, the service was flawless, and the wine selection was superb, all set in a cozy atmosphere. Each course was not only inventive and tasty but also elegantly presented. The chefs are extremely skilled and definitely deserve your patronage. We have only positive comments about Trokay and are eagerly looking forward to our next visit.

It offered the most enjoyable dining experience I've had in a long time. The food was not only delightful but also wonderfully intricate, and the service was exceptional. It’s a fantastic value for the price. I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying next season's menu!
