Really really good. As was the coffee and the tea. Nice to sit and watch the world go bye and enjoy great food. Highly recommended.

We are familiar with Paul from the UK. Here in France it can hold its head up with the other local French patisseries, having better food at a competitive price. For France the coffee is OK but, I never thought I would say this, the coffee from Starbucks, Costa etc is much better..... We had both breakfast and lunch and both were enjoyable. Much better value than our hotel.

Breakfast at our hotel was 15 euros a head which for 4 of us is way too expensive so we headed out to find a patisserie and came across Paul which looked inviting from the outside and was located opposite the market. We were a little confused by the menu which was all in French but eventually figured out what we wanted. We had coffee and croissants and pain au chocolate all of which were very nice. The croissants were definitely the best we had throughout all of stay in France. While we were there we also bought pastries to take with us, all of which we also lovely. Our breakfast bill came to 15.40 euros way better than the 60 euros we'd have paid at our hotel.

Early morning stroll to the market lead us passed Paul, one of a large group of bakeries coffee shops. Good service , pavement seating great coffee and fresh pastries. A great way to start the day.

I bought 2 macarons to share with my friend. While we sat down at the terras and after i just old my friend how i love this place (idiot as i am) we were chased away....rude unfriendly....because apparently we paid the 'take away ' price of the 5 euro macarons. We were not allowed to sit.....i felt very embarressed being treated this way. PAUL lost a loyal customer...i 'l discover friendlier places next time....PAUL is a NO GO zone for me
