Cook Out
4.2 / 5 (1495 reviews)

Description

Cook Out’s Troy outpost delivers craveable, affordable burgers, Cajun fries and fruity milkshakes with generous sides and combo value. Diners praise the taste and low prices, but service is inconsistent—ranging from friendly, efficient staff to rude or overwhelmed employees, drive‑thru lane confusion, and occasional missing items. The busy, casual spot suits families and budget-minded travelers, though management and staff training need improvement to stabilize order accuracy and operations.

The burgers here are absolutely incredible, and I’m a huge fan of their Cajun fries and milkshakes. If it’s your first time visiting, you definitely have to try a milkshake with your favorite fruit flavor!

The food exceeded my expectations. I ordered the BBQ Grilled Chicken Combo, and my 6-year-old son had the hotdog combo. Both were really tasty!

I usually don’t complain, but today I’m being honest. Only one employee was actually working while a group of workers stood around talking and laughing. I was at the counter, and even though they saw me, they just continued their conversation. The food used to be really good, but today it was disappointing. I thought I’d get my money’s worth, but I ended up spending quite a bit for nothing. I’m not very happy.

I've always enjoyed great food and experiences at Cookout, but that wasn't the case at the Troy, AL location. The drive-thru customer service was quite rude. I ordered trays and wanted to add milkshakes, but the unfriendly employee simply gave us our total and refused to return to the speaker when we tried to add them. Additionally, my BLT sandwich was missing the tomato, and I didn't receive my cheese bites. While I'm a big fan of Cookout shakes and Cheerwine and will definitely visit other locations again, I won't be going back to the Troy location. They really need some serious training there.

I went through the drive-thru and didn’t have to wait long at all. The burger combo was really tasty. There's a popular fast food chain next to Cook Out, but my family and I couldn't understand why more people weren't choosing Cook Out. Every time I pass through Troy, I will definitely make it a regular stop.
