It was okay. Nothing impressive. Service was weird. We had ordered the menu, but at no time did they tell us what we were going to have. Dessert was Æbleskiver, but was nothing like the real deal. The room feels old and dusty. View all feedback.
Røst is probably one of the best restaurants in the city. The restaurant itself is really nice in an old theatre room. The food and service are excellent. One of the most unique culinary experiences in Trondheim. Located inside a film theatre, the restaurant itself is a theatre therefore the name. The menu is very simple, you have the choice of a 3 course, 5 courses or full experience that really about 9 courses, not including snacks. There is no option. This reviewer went for full experience as well as the optional juice pairing (which surprisingly costs as much as the wine pairing option). The juices are all home brews and is very unique and you are unlikely to taste the variety elsewhere. For those looking at the restaurant, make sure that you a) not a vegetarian / vegan, b) a seafood lover, and c) open over new textures and taste. If one of the above does not apply, you can really appreciate and enjoy the unique Nordic cuisine that will present this restaurant. While the portion sizes seem small, after 9 courses plus snacks as well as juice pairings, this review was completely satisfied with both the amount of food and the palate stimulation of the entire experience. However, the full experience with wine/dress couple does not come cheap. The cost of this review is about $300 USD before tips. Keep this mind for those who have a limited budget to taste all the wonders of Trondheim. For the adventurous few who are looking for a truly unique and incomparable delicious Nordic culinary experience in Trondheim, there is really no other way than Rost Testerbistro. Five out of five stars. This is not a paid review. The meal including tip is paid from this reviewer completely out of the bag.
What a culinary experience! The spicy, the quality, the taste of the food and the appropriate wine, the service and the ambience of the restaurant will blow us away! This is the place where you want to experience local products food with its consept. We ordered the entire experience package matching wine, it cost us some crowns yes, but it was part of the experience. We also appreciate that many young and talented cooking work here, bring the food and present it to us. Highly recommended!
I didn't cry from luck while I was eating and then I came to this amazing restaurant! Omg of service it spectacular and the food is obviously amazing. This is not for you if you do not pretend to spend more than 2.5 hours in a restaurant. One of the best restaurants in Trondheim, in my opinion.
Excellent restaurant, with great staff and amazing dishes. Lots of unusual ingredients or combination of ingredients, but they were all surprisingly good! The wine choices which followed the three course menu were a good combination with the dishes. The portions are smaller than what you'd find in similar restaurants. Next time I go there, I'd probably go for the 5 course menu instead. So far, best meal I had in Trondheim! :
