that was our first time here. Although there was a waiting time when we arrived there, we could enjoy live music on the back terrace with drinks and a great one. View all feedback.
What Clare Turcotte doesn't like about Apache Trout Grill:
great bar with views of the water. this is the only thing good at this place. bartender inside has spoken too much. do not take reservations because they do not have enough parking space. extra seat area not from city smells like pee..and bathroom wash basin was clogged..together with at least one stall in both women men rooms order. yuck...overprice drinks...workers seemed lacasdaxical .after I was stabbed by a bee.... It's an old, rustic, cabin on the water feel. The outdoor patio is awesome and the view is beautiful. The service was great and the food came out super quick. My other comments on the food- the fish we got had tons of bones in it so be careful. The steak was a bit undercooked order one above what you want. The fish soup is super cheesy and thick tasting.
Apache Trout Grill offers a fantastic dining experience with unbeatable views of the West Bay. The ambience is perfect for a relaxing meal, and despite the limited parking, we've never had an issue finding a spot. While the prices are on the higher side, the quality of the food makes it well worth it. We started with the pull-apart ciabatta, served with Fustini's olive oil and an 18-year aged balsamic vinaigrette. It was a great choice--delicious and flavorful. For our mains, we opted for the specials: prime rib and large crab legs. The crab legs were cut in half lengthwise, making them incredibly easy to eat, and the prime rib was high quality and cooked to perfection. Though we skipped dessert this time, based on past visits, I'm confident it would have been just as excellent. Having dined here multiple times, I can confidently recommend Apache Trout Grill to anyone looking for a great meal, stellar service, with a view.
White fish dip is incredible! Very pretty place and the waitress was very sweet and lovely :
Unfortunately the place was not good. The halibut was super salty. The fish sandwich had a strong fish taste. Best item was the bread. The service was good. They don't take reservations and usually a 2hr wait. The place is clean, with good amount of seating. They have an outdoor drink area where they don't serve food.
One of the only places open on a Monday night! I wanted a steak so I decided to check it out. There was an hour or so wait when I arrived but a bar seat was available so I snagged that. I wanted the ribeye but sadly, prices were not posted online and the only option was a 24 oz tomahawk for $75 MP . I settled for the 8oz filet $47 . It comes with mashed potatoes and a veggie they seemed flexible about swapping any of the sides. It was tender and well seasoned. I do think it's a bit pricey but given the area and that it's a local business, I won't knock a star for it! There were options in the upper $20s range. They have a beautiful lawn by the lake with some seating they only serve drinks out there. Apparently the owners are the same as a more casual spot up the road ...I believe it's called West End Tavern. Free Parking was full but I got a spot after waiting a minute or so.
