What W3530WJ dislikes about The Junction:
What a disappointment—cold food and bland flavors. The fish was fresh but poorly cooked, and my wife’s sausages were burnt. I visited in September and enjoyed it then, but something has clearly changed. They really need a new chef. View all feedback.
This was a last minute lunch stop on our drive to Boolteens. So glad we did. Not overly hungry so we just ordered the homemade soup, bread and chips. All delicious. The soup was a Thai butternut coconut concoction that was divine. Wish I could recreate the recipe. Wanted to lick the bowl. Best chips we’ve experienced in all of Ireland. Wished we had returned there for dinner. Excellent, friendly service. Will definitely return.
We arrived early to get a table with a view of the bay. The soup of the day we wanted to order wasn’t quite ready so we started with a Dingle Gin and Elderberry Tonic served with juniper berries in a gorgeous generous glass When the soup arrived it was piping hot with brown grain bread and butter. It was delicious and tasted like it was made from recently harvested mushrooms and was perfectly seasoned. Next we shared the vegan burger that included a tasty quinoa and chic pea patty with plenty of salad and in a vegan bun. It came with huge chips and vinegar available to add to taste. We finished with tea and coffee and the cheesecake of the day hazelnut and chocolate. It was memorable for all the right reasons Definitely the place to stop on your visit to Camp Junction, Co Kerry.
Every year we stay for a month in Camp and have had several meals here, both lunch and dinner. The bar scene is great. The food is wonderful. Best fish and chips yet! Fabulous seafood chowder and toastiest. And the owner is a local kindhearted guy.
