Was Anonym at Meshwi a mag?
So I went and a friend to check this place yesterday, as we both had good reviews of it and of the pictures we had seen that eating looks great, so we thought why not give it a try meshwi is in bethnal green, not a long walk from the railway station and is very easy to reach! at the arrival the restaurant was right, but the place looked really nice, the restaurant has two floors, the lower seats larger number of gues... What Anonym dislikes about Meshwi:
ordered a take away of 1 baba gaoush and 1 humous, which came to £8. Waited 10 minutes, and when I got home the tubs were 20% full and no bread. Total con, steer clear. I can't see how they manage to give you 4...times as much in the far more expensive Edgware Road, and for less. I have learned my lesson and will not be back. View all feedback.

The food was exceptionally tasty and we were pleased with the service and the ambiance. The decor was elegant and simple, adding to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
Visited this place with a buck of friends, random selection as we were in the opposite. it is a fairly simple but beautiful clean decoration inside, located on 2 etagens, was pretty busy on the top floor, so we took the cellar. mix platter was superb, really enjoyed it, so. a fleshy firm. excellent customer service we get is average price. we also got Turkish tee bakhlava as free, which was a nice gesture. highly recommended for meat lovers. oh by the way, as we have discovered, they only accept cash, not cards.
Rather standard Turkish food compound...Not excellent, but still decent. a good size and taste card is accepted!
As a previous contributor said, we were also looking for a place to eat and passed over meshwi. and we were so glad we made it! we chose the plate for two and it was huge! the food was fabulous. consisting of flat brot with dips,...salad grilled vegetables, cousin, 2 different rice and charges of grilled meat. beautifully cooked and presentation was excellent. it was so good that we decided to return the next night! the various starters, including the falafels and moussaka. after main courses, served with salads, brot and rice. so stuffed could not manage the dessert at both locations, but have delicious mango leti and the alcohol-free skyberry was great!

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING FOOD Absolutely disgusting experience from start to finish. The food had zero flavour the ribs were completely unseasoned and the rice tasted like plain cardboard. No spice, no seasoning, no effort whatsoever. I honestly don’t know how anyone lets food this bland leave the kitchen. When I complained, the manager just stood there smiling and clearly didn’t care, which made the situation even more insulting. If you’re going to label yourself as a Turkish/Meshwi restaurant, this is embarrassing it’s nowhere near that standard. I genuinely don’t understand how this place is still operating unless people genuinely enjoy tasteless food. A complete waste of money and time. Avoid. Absolutely shocking. The ribs I had for Iftar at Meshwi were some of the worst I’ve ever been served. Completely dry, tough, and overcooked to the point they felt reheated. There was zero tenderness — definitely not “fall off the bone.” It was more like “fight it off the bone.” The outside was badly charred, almost burnt, and all I could taste was bitterness and smoke. No balance, no proper seasoning, no juiciness. It honestly felt like no care went into preparing it. Just thrown on the grill and forgotten about. After fasting all day, you expect something satisfying and comforting. Instead, I got ribs that were hard work to eat and even harder to enjoy. Very disappointing. I won’t be ordering that again.
