My mum and I went for a drink after work at Mahogany Bar, which is part of Wilton’s Music Hall – the oldest in London, apparently. It’s such a cool and cosy place to hang out, with exposed brickwood, a wooden bar and antique-y style furniture. Drinks are really reasonable and you can get plates of tapas on performance nights. The best thing about our visit was meeting a load of celebs who had assembled in the bar ahead of a charity variety show, Bottom’s Dream, taking place that evening. It was so wonderful to meet famous faces such as Gemma Jones, Ann Firbank and Hugh Fraser, who were chatting away with everyone in the bar – I felt like I had stepped back in time to the days of vintage theatre, it was magical. Mum and I loved our visit and would definitely go back again. And a big well done and thank you to all the cast of Bottom’s Dream, who were so warm and lovely. Big up to London theatre!

This place is truly unique with a glimpse of a 1920s atmosphere. Pop up for a beer, wine or (real) cider, all fairly priced. This could be a perfect hideout for a quiet drink with a date or with some family/friends. Check out what's on the Wilton Music Hall, events are great too.
