Came here with mum who was craving a taste of Deshy food. She is a village girl at heart. Borta menu is fantastic. Best ones were the Tomato and Aloo. Shutki borta good too but a little spicy for me. The fried Elish mass is by far the best. Mum loved it. Service could be faster. They mainly accept cash. Will be back again for more in future. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Clearly labelled vegetarian dishes Vegetarian options: Loads of veggie options Dietary restrictions: Halal menu for meat and chicken
Enjoyed a mouthwatering lunch at Kalapata Restaurant! The Kacchi Biryani, Nihari, Borhani, and Firni were all exceptionally delicious. The flavours were rich and authentic, and the entire atmosphere instantly transported us back to the country that lives forever in our hearts — Bangladesh. A truly nostalgic and heartwarming experience! Meal type: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We had Bangladeshi food after long long time, especially Kacchi biriyani. The food quality and service was really amazing. They also provide fresh salad and curries of different varieties.
We been in the same restaurant before. Many many times. Really really nice and tasty food this time, compare to before. Loved it and will be back soon.
Today my colleague and his friend from Newcastle we are trio was in Kolapata for late lunch. I deeply regret to go there because of kachi biriany I had. With in hour stomach pain I had to run to home Whitechapel to all the way goodmayes. I think I am having food poison and feeling terrible. Sorry everyone if you wish to have desi good food honestly is not the place.
Kolapata is an excellent Bangladeshi restaurant offering authentic Bangladeshi food and grilled food. The biryani is perfect and rich in taste.
Kolapata has amazing Bangladeshi food, connecting you to the culture of the Asian country. Food has wonderful taste and SPICE. The restaurant service is a little slow, yet manageable. Food doesn't cost much. The restaurant is hard to get to via public transport. A tip their mix bhorta gives you a lot making a great price saver.

After 8 years of searching for a good and authentic Bangladeshi restaurant that serves dishes and flavors true to those found in Bangladesh (rather than Indian/Pakistani/Western influences), I have finally discovered Kolapata! The dishes here are authentic and delicious. I highly recommend a visit if you are looking to experience genuine Bangladeshi cuisine. The meal deal offers great value as well.
Nice Bangladeshi food. Taste, portion, service, ambiance worth a try. Easily reachable, secure as its on main road. Good place to eat.
This restaurant serves authentic Bengali cuisine that will transport you to the bustling restaurants of Dhaka. The standout dishes are the bhuna khichuri and kacchi (unripe) biriyani. The staff is incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant.
Great food and good service. Most of the dishes are authentic Bengali//Bangladeshi and the I actually come here for the Chitpoti and Fujka, THE best street food that’s hardly available anywhere. Highly recommended
Our first time at Kolapata was a wonderful experience. We tried the Kacchi biriyani, grills, puchka, and bhuna beef. The Kacchi biriyani had fluffy rice and tender lamb pieces with perfect flavoring and texture. The puchka was light and crispy outside with a fresh, hot, and flavorful filling. The grills and naan were also very fresh. The service was excellent and we were delighted to find an authentic Bengali restaurant in Whitechapel. We will definitely be returning.
