Wright And Proper - Torridge
Wright And Proper
Description
Situated in the charming village of Winkleigh, Wright and Proper offers a quaint setting for coffee and light bites. While some patrons praise the welcoming staff and delicious treats like tea bread and lemon drizzle cake, others lament the quality of the food, suspecting it relies on supermarket products rather than homemade fare. Service experiences vary greatly, with some guests encountering brusque treatment, contrasting with delightful interactions from the owners. Despite its inviting decor and local ambiance, it appears that consistency in food quality and service remains a topic of concern for this cafe.

Wondering around Winkleigh we came across this cafe and we took the opportunity to have a hot drink. I chose a piece of local tea bread with butter and it was the best tea bread I have ever had. A selection of cakes, plus a menu of savoury dishes. Delightful little cafe with crisp tablecloths and china.
Very pleasant stop for cake and coffee (or Victorian lemonade, if you prefer). Some pavement chairs in the sun, a very personal service and good humour. And cake tasty.
Having stopped off at Winkleigh on our way to Bideford, one morning, we came upon this delightful little cafe. It was charming, friendly and relaxed with vibrant decor and it seemed to be the hub of the community. On the occasion of our visit there were some interesting items of furniture for sale. Very enjoyable cup of tea and snack.
I visited this restaurant with a friend, looking forward to enjoying good coffee and friendly service. However, we were disappointed by the lack of greeting from the staff, who were unfriendly and rude to the point of being offensive. We decided to leave and find another place to go.
