Description

Nestled in Torrey near Capitol Reef, this small, cozy café-motel is a favored road‑trip stop for hearty breakfasts, sandwiches and strong coffee, backed by warm, accommodating staff and an onsite gift shop. Excellent value and homey hospitality shine, especially for hikers and budget travelers. Caveats include limited seating, unpredictable café hours and reported lapses in lodging cleanliness (small showers, loud heaters), so arrive early and temper expectations for the rooms.

Really really good food. Good service. The hotels look like something we would use in the future. Food is amazing and the gift shop was great too. Will definitely come back on our way on our out of capitol reef

There aren't many options in Torry for a quick bite to eat. This cozy spot specializes in breakfast and lunch sandwiches, along with a few other delights. It's a great place to visit if you're in the area, but I recommend going early since it's small and the selection tends to shrink as the day goes on.

**Pros:** The price is great, the bed was warm and comfy, the room was spacious with a nice kitchen table, the linens and towels were clean, and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly. **Cons:** The heater was quite loud, there was no microwave, the shower was small with protruding knobs that you had to be careful not to bump into, and the floors were very dirty with sticky patches and dead bugs—they clearly hadn't been cleaned in quite some time, so I never felt comfortable taking my shoes off. To make matters worse, there was a dirty towel left hanging in the bathroom when I arrived. Additionally, the gift shop sign mentioned breakfast from 7 to 11 in the café, but when I showed up at 10 am, the door was locked. It seems from other reviews that the café's hours are quite unpredictable. I’m unsure if this is due to Covid, being off-season, or staffing shortages.

There aren't many spots for a good breakfast in Torrey, Utah, especially ones that open early and are open on Mondays. This café was perfect for fueling up before our drive through Capital Reef National Park. My friend and I ordered the two-egg breakfast; I had mine with bacon while she chose smoked salmon. We both really enjoyed our meals—they were flavorful and filling. The café also offered a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso and cappuccinos, which made our breakfast even better. The service was excellent, the atmosphere was cozy, and the food was delicious. You really can’t ask for more while on a road trip!

This hotel was easily the dirtiest one I've ever stayed in. It was so unclean that my friend and I ended up sleeping in our sleeping bags on top of the sheets. There were no other hotels available, and we were only staying for one night. We didn't feel comfortable taking a shower either because of the filthy bathroom and linens. Although the restaurant was closed, I wouldn’t trust it based on the state of the rooms. One disturbing detail not shown in the pictures was a random pill on the floor. I wouldn't recommend this place for pets or children! It really should be shut down. While I can overlook outdated rooms and furniture, cleanliness is a must for any hotel. Our visit was in October 2021. On a positive note, the heater worked well, and the toilet flushed properly.
