Rockfish - Torquay
Rockfish
Description
Our restaurant is located on Victoria Parade, offering stunning views of the inner harbor in the heart of Torquay. We receive fresh seafood daily from our own boat, Rockfisher, and from neighboring vessels in the Brixham fishing fleet. Our sustainably caught, locally sourced fish is prepared by the waterfront at dawn and served to you by lunchtime. Your server will guide you through the daily selection, noting each type of fish on your tablecloth and explaining how our chefs can cook it to order on the chargrill or fried to perfection. We offer indoor seating as well as a cozy covered terrace where guests can savor our seafood al fresco on sunny days.

Not as nice a venue as the Brixham restaurant we visited a few days earlier but food was just as good. Really fresh seafood which was well cooked. Service was also great. A great option in Torquay but booking is essential!
Very tasty food with good portion sizes. I had the calamari and cod and chips. My husband had the mussels and lemon sole and there is no fault with the taste or the service. The covid hygiene there is of a high standard with tables, chairs, high chairs, salt pepper mills all cleaned after each person has left the table. The best fish chips in Torquay. Definitely recommend.
23/8/16 First off..The best chips I have ever had.I'm 62 I couldn't take up the option of more chips.
This restaurant faces the Marina so ideal for getting into the mood for eating freshly caught fish. The reception we received from the waiting staff was first class and the premises appeared clean. The menu is centred around fish and on the evening of our visit there was plenty of choice. Fish like Dover Sole and Monkfish are expensive (almost £40 per portion) and are not available every day. We chose Norwegian Rockfish and Hake which are about half that price and appear on the menu as standard fare. It was nice to taste fish of a different flavour to Cod and Haddock but, to be truthful, I could find nothing exceptional in the fish that we chose (hake was better than rockfish). The chips (apparently limitless) were well presented in a small pewter bucket which kept them warm. This restaurant is certainly worth the occasional visit as a change from other fish and chip restaurants but do note that the rather small portions here make for a more expensive meal. Perhaps I’ve got so used to Cod that I fail to appreciate the more delicate flavours that are on offer here.
We were recommended this restaurant by a fellow traveler we met during our holiday. The food was amazing. My husband tried the Gurnard and I had the Brill, both of which we had never tried before. The fish was cooked perfectly and the salad that came with it was delicious with a flavorful dressing. We will definitely be visiting another Rockfish restaurant in the future.
