What User likes about California Sandwiches:
The sandwiches are amazing and quite large. I've had the breaded chicken, steak and veal. All of them done very well and large portions. They do however offer a mini sandwich which is plentiful by itself. Hot table has nice home cooked dishes but a bit pricy for lunch. View all feedback. Went as a family of three and had ordered meatball and veal sandwiches. The restaurant was fairly spacious but was smaller than other locations. The veal sandwich was pricey but to be fair, it was a big portion. It was a little on the salty side. The meatball sandwich was good. Overall not bad, but not super fantastic either. This has been my go to place for the veal 'sagweech' for the last 10 years.
Been almost 20 years since last visit, I miss the dingy old interior. A veal, chicken favourite. Tried the steak, it's very greasy, also excellent
This is the ORIGINAL California Sandwiches location and still one of the BEST of the many locations in the GTAThe food is always excellent.
Family owned...fresh and delicious... great portions, doesn't matter what you order, it's going to be amazing! definitely going back soon... love it.

The two line system can be confusing but the food, although missing some toppings, is generally good. Service can be slow, but the sandwiches are large and delicious. The hot table offers tasty options but is a bit pricey. Overall, the quality is consistently good and service is fantastic. The veal sandwich is a standout item, while the lasagna is perfect for leftovers. Cash is preferred, so be prepared. Despite minor issues, this restaurant remains a favorite for many regular patrons.
