Feedback
Overall, the restaurant offers a mixed experience with great service and ambiance, but some issues with pricing and food quality. Customers appreciated the attentive and friendly staff, as well as the delicious Latin dishes and cocktails served. The open concept kitchen provides a unique dining experience, while the second-level spots like Pablo's Snack Bar and Escobar add to the trendy atmosphere. Some diners found the food to be slightly overpriced, with some dishes not meeting their expectations in terms of taste and presentation. However, the overall atmosphere and service were praised, with some guests even receiving special touches like birthday cards and free desserts. Despite some shortcomings, the restaurant continues to delight customers with its warm hospitality and dedication to enhancing the dining experience.
Very good, original cuisine with a wide choice. The service is top notch and the team is very welcoming, we take great care.
Barö was really a surprise. Being a South American nut myself, I always look at themed restaurants with a little bit of doubt. Barö really surprised me, the ambiance was incredibly hip but relaxed, service was attentive and on the money and most importantly the food a real treat.Starting with drinks, the Pisco Sour was executed to perfection, the perfect mix of pisco, brilliantly crisp egg whites and a great balance of key lime and syrup, sweet but still a in depth hint of strong pisco. (I would not venture to say if this was a Peruvian or Chilean version of the drink to not offend any of my respective friends ).Coming to food, we decided for a few small dishes to share vs. main dishes. The tuna ceviche ( 'Tiradito' ) was pure genius, exceptional tuna and the passion fruit, cilantro, chile in a well balanced mix, the great surprise was thin sliced fried garlic that reminded me of back home... then we have Chori Papa with tortillas to make tacos with a delicious chorizo base complimented with potatoes and goat cheese, then was the time for 'Matambre' ( I was expecting the real thing, however flank chimichurri did work wonderfully ) to finish with some 'Cachetes' ... perfectly deep fried cod cheeks in a very traditional setting.I would totally recommend Barö considering the food, service and drinks are just exceptional. However, if you are looking for a place where to have a dinner in a calm -or romantic- setting and expecting being able to carry a calm conversation, Barö can get a little loud and crowded, excellent place to spend time with friends...
Went with my fiancee for her 30th Birthday. We didn't have a reservation but they accommodated quite fast in a busy restaurant by sitting us against the bar overlooking the kitchen. We were greeted attentively by the Manager, Dirk, who gave us some recommendations on the menu including the duck confit chaufa, the nikkei ceviche, scallops, and the matambre (flank steak). We chose all reco's and each were fantastic! To top it off, the pastry chef created a special dessert for her Birthday, complete with a mix of their churros (awesome), and tres leches cake. Overall great experience, and we will be back. Thanks, Baro!
Dirk, the manager, is the prototypical power trippin' bouncer. He refused to let us in despite being on the guest list and then proceeded to let a massive group in immediately after us. I really hope that they change the management of this place, because with this attitude they won't last long.
