This is the third time at the Palace Hotel and still excellent. Great location, comfortable hotel and lovely food. It is lovely to have complimentary tea and biscuits on arrival, as not aware of any other hotel that offers this and a lovely welcome. Cannot understand why this is not rated 4 star. Very comfortable hotel and relaxing from the moment you arrive. Bedrooms are excellent and situated in a great location. I have tried all three room standards...Executive, Club and Standard. The standard room is excellent and spacious so have been happy with all three overs the years.

I returned yesterday after a weekend trip with Edwards Coaches to Paignton and stayed at the Palace Hotel. The hotel was wonderful, very clean and warm. The Christmas decorations were fantastic, the staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was spacious and cozy with a nice bathroom, always had hot water. There was a lift to all floors and plenty of seating areas. The entertainment was excellent. Breakfast was served from 8am to 10am with plenty of food options. The evening meal was from 6:30 to 8:30pm, a 6-course meal with lots of choices and always served hot. My husband doesn't eat vegetables but there were always plenty of potatoes for him. We would definitely come back here. The town was nearby and there were buses to Torquay and Brixham. A day rider ticket was £5 per person and could be used for both places. Highly recommend a trip here, we would rate 5 stars for food, service, and value. Can't wait to come back again.

I have been staying at this hotel for over 14 years, but I will not be returning. I booked our room in February, as usual, for a 4-night stay. When we arrived, we were placed in the wrong room. After complaining about this, the person in charge at the reception insisted that we always stay in that room. I explained that we have never stayed in that room before and that we did not like it. Despite this, she still insisted. Eventually, she took us to room 14, which we reluctantly accepted. However, it was not the room we always stay in, which is room 15.

We revisited our favorite seaside restaurant today for a casual lunch after shopping. We ordered our usual beef club sandwich, which the staff kindly served on two plates with salad and chips. To go with it, I had a half pint of Tetley's while my husband had a lager lime - he's stuck in the 1960s! Who still drinks lager lime these days? Just kidding, dear!

We visited the Palace Hotel on an organised coach trip. The hotel could not have been more helpful and that's partly why we like coming back. The usual restaurant manager, Sue was on here holidays but we were looked after in the usual way at the Palace.
