The peaceful environment allows patrons to engage with the chef, adding a personal touch to the dining experience. Located near St. Francis and Stormont Vail hospitals, this restaurant is a much better alternative to hospital food. I ordered online in advance and picked up my meal. I tried the Naan (which is not vegan, but I found out that roti is) and the Palak Chana (Spinach Chickpeas) which comes with white rice. Both dishes, as well as the Chana Masala, were delicious. Despite the prices being a bit high, the portion sizes are generous enough to have leftovers for a second meal. The rice and main dish portions are equal, although I personally found there to be too much rice. Overall, a great dining experience.
I would rate this Indian restaurant in Topeka 10/10. The owner and staff are friendly and well-informed about vegan options. The serving sizes are generous. My favorite dish is the veggie pakoras with chana masala and a side of roti. Their lunch plate options typically feature 1-3 vegan choices each day, allowing you to try a variety of dishes at once. They even accommodated my request to substitute roti for naan as a side.
"This is our favorite restaurant in Topeka. We dine here at least once a week and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. We adore Pal! It's difficult to choose something from the menu, but my favorite is the Chana Masala."
They have an entire section with 10 vegan entree options on the menu. Other options that aren't on the vegan section include: Veggie pakoras Vegetable samosa Aloo Tikki Tandoori Roti Dal Makhani (with no cream)
This restaurant undoubtedly offers the best Indian cuisine in town! The welcoming atmosphere is also worth mentioning. I have been dining here for the past week and have had both lunch and dinner. The staff is friendly and sweet. The owner, Pal Mohinder, personally engages in conversation with you and educates you about the food and culture. This level of customer care is unmatched at other restaurants. The people here are great and the food is delicious. I can't wait to visit again!
