We had our drinks an... read more In the middle of nowhere, some 10km out of Tomar, we were looking for a place to have a drink and then dinner. It turned out to be A Luria. We had our drinks and while we were contemplating the menu, they offered us a plate of excellent ham. The wine list is like a novel.... And we could not resist going for their last bottle of an excellent 2011 Douro. Of course, we were the first in the restaurant, but the room soon filled up with large parties of portuguese people. Somehow, that did not disrupt the service. Food was great. But perhaps what we enjoyed most was the warm handshake at the end. They must have noticed our appreciation of our evening .

It is located on a small, pittoresque, quiet village very near the Zezere river. If you're nearby, a visit is mandatory.
