the owner of this cake business had a load in kamakura many years ago. we drove from tokio to kamakura to visit its loading! it was so good. we were sad when the load closed, but so pleased to see that it was restored in hiroo, tokio. I love that the cakes are gluten-free and do not contain white sugar. all cakes taste like their non-vegans equivalents. it is creepy how the owner created such a debt-free and cruel ca... What User doesn't like about Hal Okada Vegan Sweets Lab:
The cake is delicious, a bit expensive though. I had the mon blanc and strawberry shortcake and was not at all disappointed. There is no seating area and you need to make a reservation if you want to buy a full cake. The location is a bit hard to find cause its in an alley. View all feedback.
Newly open Vegan cake ore two minutes from 広尾(Hiroō station!!! Thste Patisserie here is a relatively well known vegan Patisserie Okada Haruo, who has been making vegan/gluten free cakes for many years. The cake store is located in the small alleyway across the Starbucks(it is a bit difficult to find and is fully cashless takeaway only. You are reccomended to pre-order online, but everyday they have a small portion of cakes you can buy on the day. Currently they only offer strawberry shortcake (vegan and gluten free!! , But they told me they are adding chocolate cake and montblanc next month! The strawberry shortcake I had was extremely moist and light, yet had a depth in the creamy flavour and I absolutely loved it!! Really reccomend this cake to all vegan and gluten free friends, they are also very willing to cater to those with different allergies !
Mr. Okada, who runs this shop, is in charge of the vegan sweets for many other stores around Tokyo, including Futaba Fruits Parlor and Wired Bonbon Lumine Shinjuku. I've been a fan of his cakes since a previous shop he was running in Kamakura. I visited on a late Saturday afternoon and they had four kinds of cake slices for sale: strawberry vegan sponge cake, cheesecake, premium montblanc, and royal chocolate cake. Since payment will be cashless from June, the staff told me that you can pay with Suica if you don't have a credit card. They're starting online ordering with home delivery for whole cakes (along with the online ordering for in-store pickup that they already had). I chose slices of the first two options and they were nice, as is everything he makes. They have more choices for the order whole cakes including the strawberry chocolate sponge cake and strawberry smile sponge cake, which looks great for kids. They focus on great quality and I thought the price was very fair for what you get. I believe the slices started at 660 yen each. The staff is very friendly and the owner was clearly very passionate about vegan desserts. Updated from previous review on 2021-05-23

It was just like a typical Japanese sponge cake! The sponge itself was not as fluffy as expected, but still delicious! Soy cream was also delicious! Try it! Updated by previous rating on 2023-03-13
