I laid a truffle cut to say little sublime, accompanied by a good glass of scansano moraillino; for binomy fairy tale to finish all with a decomposed tiramisu and revisited with white chocolate and pistachio granella. coffee and grappa barricaded separately. all seasoned by the kindness of the waiter who followed me during the dinner. of course, highly recommended!

A welcoming glass of prosecco starts things off perfectly. Items on the menu are chosen by the chef and change regularly (we dined there several times). Starters are inventive, house made pasta and risotto variations complete the Primi and most Secondi are meat varieties. We tried many of them and were never disappointed. The wine list is well chosen and prices are reasonable given the quality of food, service and venue.

The food is superb, the service is attentive, and the atmosphere in the square in Todi is unparalleled. I can highly recommend Basico and especially Filippo, who always takes time out to make sure we are enjoying ourselves.

Firstly, the food was pretty good both times, so good marks for consistency in the kitchen (apart from a significant number of dishes and wines being unavailable each time). HOWEVER on a quiet Monday lunchtime all was fine service wise hence the return visit. 2nd time was a Saturday night and everything pretty much fell apart no service to speak of plenty of staff, though we assumed 2 of them might be co owners, as they strutted about chatting to a few people and ignoring everyone else. We werent the only ones suffering 1 table near us only received half of their order and another got completely the wrong items. Like other reviewers have said, the waiter pushed their overpriced meat too hard and after 25 minutes of chasing, we finally got the last dessert we had ordered and they hadnt even bothered to brulee the icing sugar. As we’ve now found, Todi has no shortage of decent eateries and I’m afraid Basico isn’t amongst them. Look elsewhere

We had an idea what we wanted... read more We were in Todi during the Film festival. This restaurant was suggested so booked for the Saturday to be a part of the atmosphere. We had an idea what we wanted to order but we had a very pushy waiter who talked us into the beef quoting a price which was far less than we actually paid. We were rushed through our order feeling very pressured. We ordered a wine and the waiter said it might not be available. When queried he referred us to the other waiter and he produced a wine that had far more bottle age but indicated it was equal to the other but ended up being twice the price. The meal blew out to be extraordinarily expensive and the food was ok but not that brilliant. We come to Todi regularly and have never had such an expensive meal. We should have stuck to our original choices. Beware, we felt we had been hoodwinked like stupid tourists, which we are not!
