What a hidden gem. Our group of 4 ended up at Cape 16 after finding the Big Stop at Aulac too jam-packed and lined up to get in or wait in line. (No Covid distancing was happening in that line-up. . Cape 16 was super clean, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The food was made in an open kitchen where you can see it being prepared. We tried the turkey club, the haddock sandwich, sweet potato frie... View all feedback.
What Fiona Thomas dislikes about Timber River:
Stopped here on our way to P.E.I. because of limited options. Very limited menu options mostly fried food, burgers and breakfast all day. Although the fried fish and fresh cut French fries were good, the platter consisted of about 90% fries and a tiny piece offish for $23!! View all feedback.
I am a NS resident and I try to make the trip to eat at this place several times a summer. Best fish and chips around and love the homey help-yourself atmosphere.

May 12th, 2016 - We were on our way to PEI, looking for a place to use a washroom, then we came upon this restaurant. Fortunate for us, it was the same day was their opening day for the summer season. We decided that we will have our lunch here, the hostess seem to be very nice. We ordered catch of the day with fries and chicken fingers. Everything was prepared right there. It is an open concept restaurant, you can actually watch how they prepared your meal. Their washroom was clean and tidy, the restaurant has a cozy touch. We met a very friendly couple in the restaurant. The restaurant is not far from the confederation bridge, its about 30 mins. drive. So it was nice to get something to eat and continued our journey.
We stopped at this restaurant on our way to Prince Edward Island. We all ordered lobster rolls and found them to be delicious and reasonably priced compared to other restaurants. We will definitely be returning in the future.
