Called in twice during our stay in Sydney, found it by happy chance. Brilliant atmosphere, good craic and food that is so good ! Home made Cottage pie, Irish stew, and the soon to be famous Shamrock pie. Just sitting outside and watching the world go by is a pleasure here, add a Guinness and tot of Rum you're set for the night. Try the Mercantile you will not be disappointed. View all feedback.
What Curt Yundt doesn't like about Mercantile Hotel:
I got the pie with mash potatoes and peas and it was good. I definitely enjoyed it. But my friend got the roast and she was extremely disappointed. For me the food was good, but the service was below average. View all feedback.
My friend and I wondered in the bar for a drink. I asked about the glowing wine and wanted to know how it was compared in sweet to moskito. the bartender screwed his nose: “Oh no, so it’s nothing,” he said. I answered, "Well, I think I'd be like a moshkato he reacted to. “If they want moskito, they have to go down the road for them because we don’t serve it here. it is 2022 you know!” he probably told me. my friend had a guinness while I saw my shameful obsolete taste over a glass of water.
We like this place. at the arrival are warm and friendly. the menu is great. they have a great Irish roast on a Sunday or maybe a guinness cake. great place for a visit with friends or even new ones. we. good music too. so inviting. cannot wait to return. we loved the hats too. what a great time we had.
A big thank you for a perfect steak. It was so tender and tasty. Best steak I’ve eaten out for a very long time. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the $5 beer for the State of Origin was winner
Always an enjoyable time at the mercantile especially on a Sunday afternoon where you can enjoy live Irish music. Nice pub grub. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Great spot especially on the weekends with the rock markets being on.
