I was truly blown away by this restaurant. It's exceptional! We've traveled extensively through the Highlands and Islands, and very few places match the quality of food and the ease of service that this place offers. Loved everything about the Boathouse, the friendly service, the views and especially the food. If it's a nice dry day, definitely give this place a visit. The langoustines are amazing and the implements to get all the meat out are provided.
What a surprise to find so high-quality eating on a remote island. the smoked trout was great, like the cheese plate, all served with a welcoming smile
Stopped off here for lunch today with my family. We ate lobster, smoked mackerel pate, oysters, potted crab. All were absolutely 10/10. If you enjoy seafood then you should not miss this place. Local seafood in a stunning location....doesn't get better than this!
We enjoyed a beautiful lunch of fresh food today and would highly recommend this friendly restaurant on Ulva. The short ferry across was pleasant and all staff were very friendly. Thank you folks.
What a hoot and a fun place to visit! The ferry is worth the drive alone. Nothing modern here! You slide a wooden board back and forth to signal the ferry (small boat /outboard motor) to come across to pick you up.Never have to worry about phone lines or the internet with this type of signal! We stopped into the cafe for a snack and then hiked all over the small island of Ulva. If it is a nice day (it was) the hiking is marvelous and all types of historic sites to see. I think kids would really enjoy the time here and how it used to be before all of our so called modern conveniences.
