The place is small and decent. But the food is just so good with so much of authentic flavor of india.Monks has always been a regular go to spot when ever we miss Indian street food. The food here is so authentic, filled with right amount of salt, oil, spices and the veggies. Their indo Chinese is the best part of their restaurant. Be it their soups, starters, momos, fried rice, noodles or deserts. I love each and ev... View all feedback.
What Turd Ferguson doesn't like about The Monk's:
We have eaten here 3 times and the food is absolutely amazing but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The first time was top notch for every aspect. The second and third times we were the only ones there and waited over 20 minutes to place our order. But once we got the food it was absolutely delicious. Loved the food at this place. Best Indian-Chinese food tried so far. The Monk special momos were fav.
We have eaten here 3 times and the food is absolutely amazing but the service leaves a lot to be desired. The first time was top notch for every aspect. The second and third times we were the only ones there and waited over 20 minutes to place our order. But once we got the food it was absolutely delicious. Today we went and there were about 5 other families there. We left after 30 minutes after only receiving water and the family who had arrived about 15 minutes after us placed their order. If you have time to spare, check it out because the food is really very good. But only receiving water after 30 minutes is a bit ridiculous.
This place is amazing!!! Incredible food, service, and atmosphere. Everything we ordered came quickly. The staff knows us as regulars and is so friendly every time we come. We always get a chicken and a veg dish and never disappoints.
The restaurant was clean. The service was good. They’re more than happy to answer questions about the dishes and the menu is a bit overwhelming at first but it does have explanations on them about each dish. The food was delicious with good portions for the price. We had shrimp momos, goat Chettinad lunch special, and chicken Kadai Masala. Good job!
The wall art vibe is good. They could spruce up their cleanliness a little bit. The floor is quite dirty and sticky and that is why we prefer to take out.Vegetarian options: We like the vegetarian Hakka noodles, burnt chili, fried rice, The regular vegetarian fried rice is good too. The paneer chili (appetizer flavoring is very good. The paneer, itself could be a little gummy( It can be a little hit or miss . To be fair despite that I do ask for it most of the time (my order is medium spicy . Finish it off with a Chikoo shake and a replete smile.
